Mozart's Coronation Mass in C

2 pm Sunday, April 20, 2008

·         A solemn traditional Latin Mass sponsored by the Knoxville Latin Mass Community at Knoxville's beautiful and historic Holy Ghost Church currently celebrating its centennial. With celebrant Fr. John Arthur Orr, deacon Fr. David Carter, subdeacon Fr. Patrick Resen, and Msgr. Xavier Mankel attending in choir.

·         With a combined diocesan choir and orchestra singing the Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus/Benedictus, and Agnus Dei of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Coronation Mass" setting of the Mass of Blessed John XXIII (the extraordinary form of the Roman rite), this special occasion will feature some of the Church's greatest sacred music presented not in concert but in service to the living liturgy of the Church.
